Narcao Blues Festival awaits you from July 24th to 27th!

The appointment with Narcao Blues Festival is back, from 24 to 27 July 2024, with its XXXIV edition!

Many artists have taken to the stage that has always been set up in Piazza Europa over more than three decades: leading names from the international blues scene, such as Joe Bonamassa, John Mayall, Peter Green, Larry Carlton, Robben Ford and many others. A long and prestigious list destined to grow with the guests arriving at Narcao in the four musical evenings next July: the Anglo-Polish band Moore Plays Moore feat. Jack Moore, the Brazilian Artur Menezes, the Americans Southern Avenue, Jason Ricci, Selwyn Birchwood and Tommy Castro, the legendary Jethro Tull guitarist Martin Barre and the Italians Cek Franceschetti & The Stompers.

9.30pm - MOORE PLAYS MOORE feat. JACK MOORE
In 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, with the aim of exporting the musical and tourist excellence of our territory, Progetto Evoluzione promoted the "Sardinia Plays the Blues" project where six Sardinian blues bands played their songs in as many locations of great tourist interest. The DVD that was produced was sent throughout Europe, capturing the attention of numerous festivals: among these the one in Suwalki, Poland. Moore Plays Moore, is the band led by the son of the legendary British artist Gary Moore – Jack – and made up of Polish musicians, who will come to represent the Suwalki Blues Festival. The honor of opening the 34th edition of Narcao Blues will be up to them.

11.00pm - SOUTHERN AVENUE
Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Southern Avenue represents one of the best soul-blues bands that the American scene has produced in recent years. Founded in 2017 and led by the voice of the incredible frontwoman Tierinii Jackson, they will bring their show full of energy and groove to the Narcao Blues stage. So far they have 4 albums under their belt and are a constant presence at the best blues festivals across the planet. They received a Grammy nomination in the "Best Contemporary Blues Album" category, certifying the incredible quality - and success - of their artistic proposal.

9.30pm - JASON RICCI
Jason Ricci is an American bluesman. Raised under the banner of blues music - his mother took him to concerts from an early age - he is among the most important contemporary blues harmonica players. An incredible talent that led him to appear as a guest in the albums of authentic legends: Johnny Winter, Walter Trout, Ana Popovic just to name a few. He has won numerous awards during his career: he is included among the 10 best blues harmonica players of all time by Modern Blues Harmonica, he won a Grammy for the "Best Blues Album" category in 2015 as well as having won the award several times as best harmonica player at the Blues Music Awards. An authentic harmonica legend on the Narcao Blues stage.

11.00pm - SELWYN BIRCHWOOD
From Tampa, Florida, Selwyn Birchwood is one of the most successful young Bluesmen on the international scene, an unmissable concert for the closing of the second evening of the Narcao Blues Festival. An exceptionally talented guitarist, he counts Buddy Guy, Freddie King and Muddy Waters among his influences. His blues is a tribute to tradition with an eye towards the future. He won the 2013 International Blues Challenge and received four nominations at the 2024 Blues Music Awards in the categories “Best Blues Band”, “Song Of the Year”, “Contemporary Blues Album”, “Contemporary Blues Male Artist”. Selwyn Birchwood is the best of the best that contemporary blues has to offer.

9.30pm - ARTUR MENEZES
A very young rising star of the Blues world, Artur Menezes is the first Brazilian bluesman to take the stage of the Narcao Blues Festival. He discovered his love for the Blues at 13 and began to forge his own style with the guitar, influenced by rock, funk and baião, a typical rhythm of north-eastern Brazil. His explosion is rapid: he soon gets a green card to live and work in the USA due to his great contribution to Blues music. He takes the stage with Buddy Guy, and opens his concerts on the South American tour and appears in the line ups of all the major world festivals dedicated to the genre. In 2019, His Majesty Eric Clapton was selected to play at Crossroads, and Joe Bonamassa appeared as a guest on a track on his latest album. A great opening for the penultimate evening of the Narcao Blues Festival.

11.00pm - MARTIN BARRE: A BRIEF HISTORY OF TULL
Martin Barre was the legendary guitarist of Jethro Tull for over 43 years. His sound and his virtuosity were a determining factor in the success of the band, with over 60 million copies sold, writing indelible pages in the history of Rock. His solos are among the most memorable in the history of music, just think of songs like Aqualung or Thick As A Brick. His performance on the album "Crest of a Knave" earned him a Grammy Award in 1989. In addition to numerous Jethro Tull albums, Martin has worked with many other artists including Paul McCartney, Phil Collins, Gary Moore, Joe Bonamassa and Chris Thompson and has shared the stage with legends such as Jimi Hendrix, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. On the Narcao Blues stage he will celebrate Jethro Tull's musical journey through the years in his new show "A Brief History of Tull". The history of their timeless classics will be retraced: songs such as "Thick As A Brick", "Aqualung", "Stand Up", "Songs From The Wood", "A Passion Play", "Heavy Horses" and many others.

9.30pm - CEK & THE STOMPERS
Cek Fransceschetti is an Italian musician whose musical roots lie in the United States. A great guitarist and vocalist, who represents the new course of Italian Blues in the numerous international festivals of which he is now a stable presence. On the Narcao Blues stage he will open the final evening accompanied by his band, the Stompers, with his music made of research and experimentation, of lands on which to take root and make new musical expressions germinate where the Blues does not set limits or boundaries.

11.00pm - TOMMY CASTRO & THE PAINKILLERS
An authentic Blues legend and an incredible closing for the 34th edition of the Narcao Blues Festival. Tommy Castro, a Californian artist, was and still is one of the greatest representatives of the Blues world. Influenced from a very young age by the greats of the genre - Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Buddy Guy – his blues with soul and rock tinges led him to become as big as his idols. His career is dotted with prizes and recognitions, in particular at the Blues Music Awards which he has won several times in various categories, and with an intense musical production (over twenty albums to his credit) and concerts, which sees him as a headliner in the most important festivals from all over the world.
